Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Kantharos (“Kantharos,” “we,” “us”) handles information when you use our websites, desktop and mobile applications, and related services (the “Service”).

1. Who we are
Kantharos is a thin client for Nous Research Hermes Cloud. Hermes remains the system of record for your agents and conversations when you connect your own Hermes / Nous account (“BYO Hermes”).
2. Information we collect
- Account and contact data you give us (for example name, email) when you request dogfood access, support, or waitlist entry.
- Device and app data such as app version, OS, device type, crash/diagnostic logs, and basic usage events needed to run and improve the client.
- Settings you store in the app (for example connection preferences). Secrets such as API keys are stored on your device using platform secure storage where available; we do not intend to upload your Hermes API keys to Kantharos servers.
- Support content you send us (emails, screenshots, descriptions).
3. Hermes / Nous and other third parties
When you connect Hermes Cloud, chat, roster, auth, billing for Hermes credits, and related agent data are processed by Nous Research / Hermes (and any providers they use) under their terms and privacy policy. Kantharos does not host your Hermes agents for you in the MVP model.
Our site and Service may also use infrastructure providers (for example hosting, DNS, email, analytics if enabled later). Those providers process data only to provide their services to us.

- Comply with law and enforce our Terms
- Communicate product updates you opt into
We do not sell your personal information.
5. Legal bases (EEA/UK where applicable)
Where GDPR/UK GDPR applies, we rely on contract performance, legitimate interests (secure/improve the Service), consent where required, and legal obligations.
6. Retention
We keep personal data only as long as needed for the purposes above, then delete or anonymize it, unless a longer period is required by law.
7. Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, export, or restrict processing of your personal data. Contact legal@kantharos.ai. For Hermes-side data, use Hermes / Nous account controls as well.

8. Children
The Service is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
9. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.
10. International transfers
We may process data in the United States and other countries where we or our providers operate. Where required, we use appropriate transfer safeguards.
11. Changes
We may update this Policy. We will change the “Last updated” date and, for material changes, provide additional notice where appropriate.
