# Kantharos

Kantharos is a Mac bot app for Hermes agents. It offers a familiar personal-bot experience, model choice within the connected Hermes setup, and the option to connect to a self-hosted Hermes gateway. Hermes remains the runtime and system of record. A self-hosted gateway lets users control where Hermes runs; their selected model providers may still process chats. Independent product; not affiliated with Nous Research. Kantharos 0.1.0 is an early preview for Apple silicon Macs.
