We built Kantharos because we wanted the power of Hermes in a workspace our business team would love using—with the freedom to choose the models underneath.
We could see the potential. We wanted an easier way in.
We were early adopters of agent tools, including Hermes. Watching an agent work through a task, use tools and carry context forward felt like a glimpse of how we would run our business in the future.
Getting there took work. Our leadership team thinks about customers, revenue, operations and decisions. Setting up an agent environment became another job to learn before we could get to those things.
If you have watched Claude Code work, you may know the feeling: the capabilities are exciting, and the possibilities seem enormous. As a CEO, CRO, sales leader or operator, you want that power applied to your work. You also want a workspace that makes sense when you open it.
A bot you want to come back to
Grok Bot impressed us with its approachable experience. It gave the technology a familiar shape: a bot you could recognize, talk to and return to. Muse helped reinforce how much the interface matters.
But our experience also left us wanting more choice. We wanted to choose our models and providers, and bring our own setup. Our choice of interface should leave room for those decisions.
That became the idea behind Kantharos: the approachable bot experience we enjoyed, built on the Hermes foundation we valued.

We are building the interface we wanted for ourselves. One we are excited to open. One that makes powerful technology feel approachable to the people running a business.
Your agents. Your models.
Openness means freedom of choice. Through Hermes’s supported providers and compatible endpoints, you can bring your own models, API keys and integrations—including a private model endpoint.
Different work calls for different strengths. You might prefer one model for writing, another for coding, and another for research. Your choices can evolve with your work, budget and business requirements.
That is the openness we care about: an interface that leaves those choices with you. Kantharos itself is not currently open source.
From one person to a whole company
We are starting with an agent workspace for a person. Our vision grows from there: shared work for teams, then an agentic operating system for a company.
People should be able to put agents to work without becoming experts in the machinery underneath. They should also have the freedom to choose that machinery.
Kantharos is our answer. It is a super early beta, and we would love you to help shape it.
